you know, I don't notice that Bond theme trumpet bit at the start after a couple of times...

the choral bit is standing out though now...

Frankly, I'm still giddy from last night's excitement. Or feeling eight years old, which is pretty much the same thing.

Very different from the RTD era in so many ways, but spot-on in its essential Who-ness.

Utterly fabulous.

Through the magic of the internet I was able to catch the new Doctor's first adventure late last night (early morning for you guys across the pond). My fellow yanks can catch up with the rest of the world on Cast tv. Wow! I could barely sleep after that, I was so amped up!

Love Matt Smith as the new Doctor. He shows tremendous promise and he overcame my doubts almost immediately, where it took a while it took several episodes to warm up to Tennant's Doctor after Eccleston left. His new companion is quite a woman too! I'm a sucker for sexy redheads... :-*

The new theme is going to take some getting used to. I am very much looking forward to the episode with the vampire women. More inspiration to be had. I might just break down like many of you and buy the Doctor and Amy and start some Who wargaming. At least the Doctor can fit in anywhere.

Here i was, all set up to hate no. 11.

Dr Who-llyoaks as me and the missus were dubbing it.

Young pretty boy to appeal to the girlies...check.

Young pretty girl to draw in the girlies dads...check.

The missus wasn't even going to watch it, so we settled down with our grumpy heads on, ready to...

Oh...

Dear lord!

OK...calm down...

Now i always hated Tennant who SHOUTED ar random INTERVALS, and talked through HIS teeth in the hope that he might be actually ACTING...

Ecclestone was pretty good...on a par with Davidson...

But here...the 11th Doctor is SO good, its almost like Baker's back on screen.   :o

And those teasers!  Khaki daleks!!!

I think a little bit of wee came out i got so excited.
A man of my venerable years really shouldn't be getting this stimulated.
I had to have a cup of milky tea just to get my blood pressure back down.

We'll have to wait and see but i have a feeling this new Dr could well be astonishingly good...i'm certainly looking forward to this series and feel like everything since the end of Baker's reign has sort of been just treading water waiting for Matt Smith to grow up...

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.  It is by the juice of Typhoo the thoughts acquire speed, the teeth acquire stains, the stains serve as a warning.  It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

At least the Doctor can fit in anywhere.

This is the best thing about gaming Doctor Who.  You can use just about any models you have for it, from modern or historical minis to scifi aliens and fantasy monsters, it's all fantastic.  :)

As a bonus The Doctor changes his appearance completely from time to time so you can use any vaguely human male looking mini for him and his companions can be anyone you like.

Even the TARDIS doesn't always look like a Police Box.  So that can be anything with an opening someone could fit through.

Watched it again last night and it is still as good as the first time. There are the obvious Who plot-holes, but then it wouldn't be the same without them  :D

My 10 year old and his cousin were determined to hate Matt Smith but both were absoloutely bowled over.

What a re-boot!  ;D

I think you have to be resident in the UK to use iPlayer and I'd imagine they would be very keen to quash all non-official sites like You Tube, so good luck  :(

Yeah that's exactly my problem, and unfortunately danish TV doesn't seem to know a good series when even if it came and hit it over the head! The showed Eccleston's Dr Who late at night and then said, well no body saw it so we're not interested....go figure

Does anyone here know if the first episode is repeated on any of the BBC stations before the next episode airs?  Or even at all?

For various reasons I cant get at BBC player, so that isnt a solution for me.

Any ideas?

BBC 3 showed it again on Sunday, last series run, BBC 3 would also show it on the Friday before the next episode... but no idea if this is the case this run...

EDIT:
yep, BBC 3 at 9 on Friday...
