I've posted a review and photos of Wargames Atlantic's 3D-printable 1860s/70s Māori warriors:

WOW those look great for 3d printed figures. None of those thumb print ridges on them.

Nicely done! Good to see these printed and painted.

I did the original design brief for the Maori files and ended up a bit disappointed where they ended up. I was sent the files to provide feedback and covered off things mentioned in the review like about kilts/dress, why so many revolvers? The traditional weapons like taiaha and tewhatewha being relatively oversized etc. None of the feedback suggestions were picked up. I get the impression that they were rushed to get these out by month end to meet the deadline for their theme and got them to "good enough". No issue with that, I wasn't commissioning the project, I had fun compling the brief and they were super nice.

I also suggested rifled muskets, muskets, shotguns and maybe an arm with a Terry carbine. I sent through a pic of a Terry since it was an unsual weapon but it seems it became the model for a strange Terry/Musket hybrid that the figures are armed with!

If a prefectionist (like me, unfortunately) none of the issues can't be fixed with a bit of conversion work and green stuff. And the heads are super useful for converting other figures. Seeing these printed and painted is positive as they do convey the right look. This is good motivation to get some printed.

That’s a really helpful review and some great looking figures you’ve done there.

At first glance, I was put off this set because all I could see were over-muscular  ‘heroic tribal’ types that looked too caricatured to match with my Empress and Eureka figures.

Presumably the kilt/waistcoat bodies are in the same set but not featured so much? Good basis for some conversions at least, much along the lines already suggested, maybe using firearms from other plastic sets as required.

Interesting but my eye keeps being drawn to the figure on the far left of the photograph; the head and neck are bizarre and it looks like he has a right hand holding the pistol on a left arm.

Ha ha, you're right - bad assembly on our part!  The head of that figure had broken off, so I glued it back on - badly, as it turns out! As for the wrong arm, well I think that was us as well!
