Iron Brotherhood Question
« on: April 16, 2010, 09:55:13 AM »
I just saw the Iron Brotherhood minis at Microarts studio. Like them.

Are there rules for those (40K, I guess) somewhere?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

People have generally either used them as count as Imperial Guard or gone with an Inquisitorial army again as count as. Though I've seen some creative lists out there that used Tyranids and Space Marines as base lists.

I thought about doing an Adeptus Mechanicus army for a while (even started converting models), but my enthuisiasim for 40K began to fail there, so I didn't get much further. I was going to use a Witchhunter list as the base list, with indoctrinated guard as standard troops and alsorts of lovely witchhunter madness to represent the more weird Adeptus Mechanicus stuff. I remeber correctly there's a half decent yahoo group for the concept.

I have made my own Skirimish 40.000 adaption, based on LotR Battle Companies.

Basically 40k with a handful of individual minis, where you have a large degree of freedom in chosing which models to paint and game with.

I'd NEVER paint up an entire 40K army, as I do not think the game worth it, but I like the minis (at least some of them) and the dark atmosphere of the setting.

Hmm, that sounds interesting. Any chance that the rules are at a presentable state?

I'll dig them out from some cobwebbed corner of my PC and take a look.

I don't know if I already made a change to the way, a 'squad' or 'battle squad', or whatever I called it, acquire new models - but basically it's going to be like this:

You earn a number of Influence Dice, dependent on the outcome of the fight; you roll them after each fight and add the score to your Requisition Points Pool. RP can then be used to buy extra models/gear for your force - you basically have to save up points to get more expensive models, no Special Characters allowed.

There is no coherency, models move independently in order of Initiative, but leaders have a Command Radius to make their better Ld count, and such stuff. Well - I should just stop ranting and go about finding them, right?  ::)

Found the file, but it will have to be edited.

If you have a gmail I can cut and paste a bit for you to have a taste of it. Force lists need a heavy overhauling before being useable, I'm affraid..
