Wargaming The Siege Of Serigapatam 1790`s in 28mm
« on: April 22, 2010, 12:14:56 AM »
Dear All,

I am considering the above as a stand alone game where I stand say 75mm by 40mm represents either a regiment or battalion, wondered if anyone had ever gamed this Battle in any scale and if so what rule system they used.

Due to cost implications I need to keep amount of lead down..sorry you manufacturers!

Cheers,

Shipka

I've played some of the other Indian battles in this era with "Eighteenth Century Principles Of War". Each infantry unit (normally from battalion-brigade strength) is represented by from 9 -12 figures and each cavalry from 6-9 figures, depending on player's preference. One gun model=one battery. Only done it in 15mm, but have played the 19thC version of the rules in 28mm with great success. The units' base sizes are three bases each of 30mmx15mm for foot and 30mmx30mm for cavalry in 15mm and double that for 28mm. I find that nine figure infantry and 6 figures cavalry units look good and cuts down costs  ;)

A good, fairly simple, quick play set of rules with minimal record keeping which can handle multi-player, multi-corps games with ease. Sample army lists for all nations (including Wellington's and Indian armies) included and at only eight quid, a bit of a bargain  :D

You could do it in 2mm, or perhaps 6mm, and keep down the costs. Little men cost little amounts!
I told you so. You damned fools.
