British cops with weapons - the unseen pics...
« on: April 29, 2010, 08:41:08 AM »
Hi all - I've been working away on Grimjack's figures, and here's some updated pics. Not very good pics, sadly, as I'm a rubbish photographer, and the lighting makes them look a bit weird too...

First, the modified WPCs:

Then the rest:

Hope you like them!

Cheers,
Michael

Lot of character. I get a little kick out of seeing copperesses in those dainty little hats wielding a MP45.

Is it just me or do those guns look way too big?

Those G36's do look like something from GW don't they?

That said, I don't mind too much, I'll certainly be a customer.

Nice figures but the weaponry looks way too big.

The enormous bulk of the weapons most 28mm figures are toting is sort of a tradition dating back to Grenadier's 8-inch-wide broadswords in the late 1970s, but on ontherwise "normal" humans it's especially striking. Compared to the average human frame, from the top of the receiver to the trigger guard is almost 9". The clips are wider than an adult male hand - approximately 5".
from Mr.Vampire: "It's the paintjob that makes the miniature fight harder not the size."

I think most wargames figures' weapons are way too big. I understand the casting process probably has a lot to do with it - at the correct scale most rifle barrels, swords, javelins etc would be way too fragile. The H&Ks aren't too far out but the rifles certainly seem very chunky. That said, I do like the figures and would tend to agree with dewbakuk - it wouldn't put me off buying as I can see several uses for these figures  :D

More like a G40K than a G36  ;)

I'll get my coat.

Joking apart, they're really cool sculpts and the big guns don't detract from the quality. I like them a lot.
