Latest releases are Lt Col. Durnford and Colour parties.

We are hoping to release relevant colours for the AZW in the future.

These are really nice. The colours party might come in especially useful for my VSF gaming. Every unit in my forces has a standard. I hate converting them, so I bet you will get an order for a pack of these and a pack of the 'Zulu' characters! This time on Mars!!!! :)

Painted Durnford already. Nice figures, especially like the ebob horses you are using, set the figures off well. Working on my Natal Carbineers now.

I can see a nice colour party scene for a couple of these colour bearers an escorts.

Well done ladies, nice work from Paul yet again and nice to see Burt lancaster in the metal  :D

Yes, on the whole I think I prefer the new Foundry Zulus, at least the ones that are based on the Mark Copplestone DA sculpts. Some of the sculpting in that range is downright awful, though. So, in conclusion then, I think if you combined the best of Empress and Foundry into one range you would have the best Zulu War range ever, but on their own I don't think either of them quite deserve that accolade.

So a shared 1st place? or do you have some other line in mind?

Personally I much prefer the Empress figures to Foundry. There is still lots of great Foundry models but there is also many which I don't like. I would have liked to mix more, but they use slightly different modelled helmets and I like it to be more the same, silly me.

But then again I only compare the British army and not the Zulus.

Yes, I agree. The British are the low point in the Foundry range. Frankly, some of the new ones are rubbish. It is their new Zulus that I think shine, whereas the Zulus are the weak link in the Empress range for me*, though their Brits are absolutely splendid, and just brimming over with character.

*I wouldn't say they were bad, just not quite on the same level as their Brits.

Have to agree on the Zulu's, nought wrong with them they are very nicely done. For me they are not animated enough, they look like they are putting on a show for tourists rather than charging the defenders at Isandlwana or Rorkes Drift, they don't look nearly as menacing on the table as they should do, if you get my drift.
