Making Chainmail, help requested

On a brain picking mission again!

Does anyone have any tips or know of a tutorial for making chainmail for 28mm minis?

I want to convert some troops from light to heavy and would like to add chain mail to them. I admit my oafish, clumsy hands may not be up to the task but I am willing to give it a go!

I imagine it will be a green stuff task but would like to hear peoples ideas.

I found some other replies on other sites

A hypodermic (or sewing) needle ground down on the side to form a C. The figure’s scale would dictate which gauge of needle to use. Apply your putty; impress the needle into the putty to form a line of C’s. For the second row, reverse your needle to form a backward C and do another line under the previous row. The two rows with give you an S shape and from there just keep adding rows.

Could do with some music that is easier on the ear!

Simple technique though even if a little unrefined.

I was thinking of using an old automatic pencil for the 'c' shape idea or maybe experimenting with some ink nibs I have, I will keep people posted.

I assume the parts where the tool goes off-camera and comes back sticky are where he put them in his mouth... hobby tools do not belong in your mouth!

Just for the record, all the advice I gave, I found online, and definitely not my video for the sculpting as the music IS terrible.

Yes they do!

Just not with milliput, leaves your gob feeling furry. 
For greenstuff, it is perfect for smoothing stuff out as it is slightly thicker than water.

Never thought that for a moment. I wouldn't have made comments the way I did if they were you!!!
