Schleich Animals scale to 28mm
« on: May 16, 2010, 03:18:30 PM »
Has anyone got a scale comparison for the Schleich Animals compared to 28mm minis?

I am specifically looking to convert this model in to a WHF Razorgor, as the GW model is, frankly sh**e.

Any help appreciated, and of course i will show any results here.

The Scleich human figures are around 85mm head to toe so roughly 3 times the size?

Right, but he's wondering about the size of this boar compared to the freakishly over-sized GW ones.
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

Hello,

since I am new I am not sure wether I should simply in the pics or "embed" them as this one. Dear Admin please don't rip off my head if I am doing this the wrong way.  ???

As for size comparison, I found this pic of a Schleich dinosaur with what looks like 28mm miniatures ... he is huge!

Furthermore I found this post "http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/243231.page". I am not 100% sure but I think the three elephants with barbarians and ogres riding them (roughly at the middle of the post) look like Schleich ones.

So I guess that boar would go quite nice as huge animal of destruction.

Hop this helps.

I don't know how big the GW boars are but Schleich are much larger scale wise. I used one for my VSF panda which is huge. About 3x sounds about right to me too.

That little beastie is 3.25'' (about 82.5mm) in length and is approximately 1/20 scale.  Just a little large!

Found them here

So I am hoping they have them in stock!

At £3 each may have to just give it a go!

Cheers all

They are going to be as big or slightly bigger than a 28mm war elephant. They would look good as a battle beast/bohemoth, but probably not very good for individual mounts.

Most Schleich animals are not made to a specific scale, but most are too big for anything but giant animals - some of their dinos and sea animals are, though, you can get 1/48 dinos which are VERY nice (who can tell that some indivdual specimenns were not larger, and some smaller than the skeletons unearthed?).

I just got a T-Rex that I'm going to make a removeable saddle for (maybe more of them) to allow it being used 'as is' or as a mount for a fantasy/VSF/WWWII/whatever character.... come to mind, if it wouldn't be too costly (and take up too much space on the table), a unit of Danish T-Rex lancers would be a nice VSF-project...  ::)

I think the lances would be somewhat redundant?  ;)

Need to have some long 'shock'-lances (exploding tips?) for attacking steam tanks... but I must add, it's the sheer silliness of the concept that appeals to me  :)

Went and got this today as a trial.

Gonna need some green stuff and work but is a good base for the size.

£2.50 for the toy and it is a baby warthog, everyone say ahhh!

There is a minotaur in the background and it is facing a tuskgor.

thanks for all the help guys. :)
