Thanks, former user - so is 1:72 about the same as 20mm?

Pretty much - if you measure from a 1/72 miniature's soles to its eyes, it's just about 20 mm.

Plastics tend to be slimmer and more naturally proportioned than metals, although same height, though.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Excellent, Argonor - thank you! That means that 1:72 plastic terrain kits would work pretty well for 20mm post-apocalyptic. All I'd need is to "distress" them a bit, and add a few futuristic gubbins.

Absolutely! Also the vehicles/tanks/planes can be used as wrecks.

Model Railway kits, former user? - You mean HO scale, or is it another scale that I don't know of? HO would be VERY handy. Lots of HO plasticville stuff on eBay.

And Argonor - great idea on using 1:72 planes, etc., as wrecks. As long as it blocks line of sight, looks good on the table, and can be crashed into, it's going in my game! Great idea - now all I have to do is hope that I can paint my cars as well as Criamon's beauties at the start of this thread - sorry, Criamon, for highjacking it a little! This is great stuff, though!

Caesars modern militia would work well as post apocalyptic types.

HO is 1:87-1:76, depending on the manufacturer and model generation.
Old railway models used to be small, new ones are sometimes that large that You can even use some for 28mm by the height of the doors

Thanks, P_Clapham - they do look useful!
And thanks, former user - that actually explains a lot. I've got Plasticville O scale stuff in the past, and most of it is on the money (more or less) for 28mm, although a couple of pieces I've got have been way off. If the same sort of variation is there with HO, that makes sense.

You have to take a miniature with You, open the box and check the door size

I'm liking these conversions, especially the weathering on the paint job.

I suddenly have an urge to start modding full size cars and living the roadwarrior life :) Although that might take more time and money (and skill) than I have available.

For now I will just use these as inspiration.

Hi ! this afternoon I finish more cars for the game, and I take off the bases at the first.
The problem is that tunning the Hot Wheels cars is a drug xDD and now I go to the papershop to buy more cars.  ;D ;D

PD: The next saturday we will play the first Warlands game in the club and try to make photos.

Thanks!!

Really excellent stuff - great weathering, nice choice of colours, and that pick-up (of something similiar) with the flag at the back is fantastic!
And you're right, Criamon, it IS addictive. When the cars cost so little, it's difficult to stop yourself from buying more!
Looking forward to the game report!
