New figures from Redbox.

A gangster set.

A police and armed civilian set
http://theredbox.com.ua/set/40.htm

Both look quite nice.  I debating on getting a boxed set, or waiting for the review from Plastic Soldier Review.  Some of their older stuff has looked quite terrible.  However a friend of mine did pick up their civilian volunteers box, and it turned out not to be as bad as the review.

Aye. I reckon they'll do fine with a paintjob.

Featureless lumps. God.  ::)

I'll see about ordering some, and do a comparison against the Caesar miniatures.

The ranges available in 1/72nd these days is astonishing. There are possibly more companies producing stuff than there were periods covered when I were a lad ;)

I do have a soft spot for plastics but then I remember how they bend, what a pain they are to paint etc etc etc

Still get tempted quite often though.  The plethora of Boxer Rebelllion releases was the last to test my resolve.

I would love to compare sales figures of these to say the Victrix Naps or Warlord Romans.

The softness does vary and is a bit of a pain.  That's why I put a couple coats of spray gloss and a coat of matte on my figures.  I find the quality on 1:72 scale minis greatly varies, it doesn't help that many companies don't put pictures of the actual figures on the packaging.

I think they look quite nice and it would be fairly cheap and easy getting vehicles and making terrain. That said, they're easy to get damaged, lost or not that great to display.

Sorry to bring this back to the top, but after actually buying a box I thought I'd share my opinion of this kit.

So I finally got a hold of a box.  They are not great by any means.  Some of the mold lines are in horrible places the old lady figure has one going right across an eye down her face.  once you get some paint on them they don't seem too bad though.  They are decent and would look fairly good I'd imagine if one were to use a good sharp blade to trim off the mold lines and be a decent painter.

I'm by no means a great painted and I didn't bother with the mold lines, saying that here is one I have painted for a post apocalyptic setting:

You spend 6/7 euros to have 4 times 14 bad miniatures ...  :)

Astonishing what they make in the Ukraine these days...  ;)

I'd have loved these from Airfix when I was a kid  ::)
