Do you give the lava a coating of brilliant varnish ?

No varnish. And I have to admit the lava doesn't glow like that in real life. That is a result of the camera flash.

I'm hoping to playtest the game today!

As I said on TMP (Tarleton), very impressive especially the flowing lava. Maybe some gloss varnish would make it glow more like the photograph? Thanks for the other photos for the work in progress, very thought provoking

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. This is going to be my traveling board for the next few months as we prepare for the release of Fantastic Worlds in November. I wanted something memorable to showcase the rules.

But, like all gamers I've already started thinking about what I want to do next.

That looks fantastic, a fitting alien landscape on a perilous world our heroes to make their last stand!

Oddly, I have some of that insulation board in my basement, and have never tried to do much of anything with it.  I am too damn busy doing other things these days to work on terrain and such.  I really am beginning to like winter more, that keeps me trapped inside doing projects like that.

Again, great work, I am sure the folks will be as impressed by your rules set as they will your craftsmanship!
