Not much to show for my recent efforts. Painting is taking a lot longer than expected. As the saying goes “ a change is as good as a rest” so I have been painting the crew over the week end. Still WIP though so no photos.
My brother has sent me a couple of photos. He was off work yesterday so managed to get some useful work done.

The tail section is now built. On to painting it now.

The outside of this section is also fully covered

My last post I said I was painting some of the crew. Four are old figures shown before

Still WIP. Went on to more important things

Hook on the top of the plane

Trapeze

Winch for the trapeze

Some of the detail for the hanger bay

Two spare MG’s for the plane and an oil can

In position

Have now covered the outside of the cargo bay

Built some bits and pieces for the MG positions but no pictures yet. Did make three more MG’s and some spare ammo cans

My Dog, it gets better and better.

Does the trapeze actually support the plane? Oh, and how do pilots get into the cockpit of the biplane? Perhaps a small pivoting/hinged catwalk is in order?

You may as well - you've build everything else!  :o

Amazing attention to detail. An oil can and rag - WOW!

Those little details are really pushing it over the edge into insanely cool.

Will there be a dining room or is this a military airship?

And, of course, for the convention where you roll this out to a stunned public, you need a tablecloth painted with a "1000 meter" view of the European countryside. (Which will double as a nice mat on which to play Wings of War or your favorite air combat game.) If a character falls/is pushed from the zepp, make the player roll a small satchel of dice as the falling damage - just for kicks.

I keep wondering how you manage to stay so focused on this project. It is truly a massive undertaking and once again I applaud you for it.

The trapeze would be stong enough to support the plane but there is a problem with it sitting correctly. A real plane would be front e heavy the model one is tail heavy. So it does not quite sit right. So it needs to sit with the tail touching the walkway behind it.

Having a target date that it needs to be finished for is helping, so is all the encouragement recieved here.

I'm sure the German Officer corps would demand a mess, complete with waiters, regimental silver etc  ;)
