That gun is a beauty. I really like the brass effect on the barrel!

Again according to Chartrand an unofficial company of artillery was formed from men of the Compagnies franches in 1697. The first company of canonniers-bombadiers wasn't formed until 1743. Prior to that my guess is that there was no uniform, but Chartrand gives no details. The only source listed which may help is "Memorial de  l'Artillerie francaise, XXXII(1963) and XXXVIII(1964) by Denoix and Muracciole.

Nice looking game and table.

I own a few of the Ganesha rules myself, including SDS, but I'm yet to use them. I vaugely remember reading somewhere that mentioned the possiblity of a F&IW supplement sometime in he future. I'm not sure if there's any truth in it...

@Aaron
Thank you, for that information.
I found this picture (cant remember where)...

So I "converted" my own mastergunner...

...while the crew will be ununiformed (sorry for the dark picture):

@Barry
If there is a conflict, setting, age, film or book there will be a ganeesha supplement for it... lol

just a question, but SDS isn't a Napoleonic shirmish rule-game?
 o_o

I have never used it so sorry for my question, I presume some other rules are more close to this period.

SDS is more or less the core rules of SoBH with a few add ons (e.g. for muskets, modifided group-activation...).

I cant see that much of a napoleonic feeling skirmishlevel combat.

For me its close enough, and the Songs of... -rules can easyly be modified, if you wish to... ;)

If this were a thread title on Frothers it would have entirely different contents.

SDS would have been spelt slightly differently too.  ;)

Great thread, some lovely and original work. BTW you know that Northstar has now produced some gunners for this range. I was going to go down the same track as you but it's no longer necessary.
