54mm Gunfighter Source?
« on: June 01, 2010, 11:00:34 PM »
Hello again!

I'm looking to build a small vignette for my stepfather featuring some sort of western gunfighter but I haven't come up with any relatively nice models for less than $30 or so.

Can anyone direct me to a 54mm (or above scale) gunfighter model in the $20-30USD range (shipping included, preferably)?

Hello,

Newbie here. I know a few manufacturers who make nice wild west figures in 54mm but they are rarely cheap. I think you can probably get some Andrea miniatures for under $30 but not sure where is best to order them from in the US. This site seems to have a few ranges of 54mm western figs for sale, including Andrea:

Streets of Laredo also worth a look

It's not 54 mm, but the extensive 40 mm range by HLBS might be a nice alternative:

There is even a nice vignette:

I could be more specific if I knew more of what you were looking for, but no matter what it is I would suggest you not rule out plastic figures.
There are some very nice ones, and they are less expensive.  Replicants and TSSD are exceptional, but others are darn nice as well.
If it's not for gaming, and just for display, then they will work just as well, and would be easier to modify should you want to.

I buy them from here:
http://www.michtoy.com/michtoy_products_C.php?Types=Toy%20Soldiers%20and%20Miniatures&Material=Plastic&Scale=1/32%20Scale%20(54mm%20or%202%201/4%20inches)

They also sell the metal figures if you're really wanting those.
