Chaos In Carpathia questions
« on: June 03, 2010, 11:41:22 AM »
Hi Folks (and particularly Scott, if you're reading),

A couple of questions have arisen as of late as we've been playing. In no particular order:

1. Shape of the Bat: Does it affect movement distance or does the model still only charge MOVE +5"?

2. Now that certain characters are about to advance, are their maximums for certain skills? In other words, can combat attack, crack shot, and other such skills have a top out, or can a character rise to the dizzying heights of x5, x6, x7, and so on?

Thanks,
JET

Hey, Jet! Shape of the Bat does not confer additional movement, just the ability to circumvent otherwise difficult or impassable terrain.

As for the second question, check page 73 of the rules:

Most advances will indicate in parenthesis the
number of times they may be taken. If a player
rolls an advance he has already exhausted, he
may roll again until he gets an advance his
model can legally take.

COMBAT ADVANCE TABLE
Roll Result
1 +1 Vitality (max +1)
2 +1 die Combat Attack (max +2)
3 +1 die Crack Shot (max +2)
4 +1 die KO Checks (max +2)
5 +1 Lightning Reflexes(max+2)
6 +1 die Combat Evade (max +2)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the bat clarification, and as for the experience, I can't believe I'm so imperceptive.  ::)

And now for another one.

When it comes to expending 2 FP for an extra attack, does that apply to both melee and ranged attacks?

Thanks,
J

Without having the rules at hand yes, you can get either a ranged or a close combat attack from spending 2 fate points.
