Thanks this is really an inspiration for all post-apocalypse gamers. Why do I think about some coast pirates....  It's more realistic than "waterworld" - poor Kevin Costner.

Here's an abandoned hospital in New York. Check out the weathering and the extent that plant life has taken over. I am not sure about the hospital but the island was finally abandoned in the 1950s.

Excellent pics! Thanks for the links, everyone. My own contribution is also from New York: its a little place I just learned about called King's Park and is an abandoned psychiatric center. I was recently regaled with creepy stories about a friend's visit to the place:
