Post apoc' buildings

Here is an image gallery (6 pages) of Hashima Island (aka Battleship Island) off the coast of Japan. It makes for some good reference for any one contemplating post apoc' style games.

Great link.

That is a seriously depressing area, and perfect for reference or inspiration.

That's very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Another source of inspiration is a journal about a trip to prypjat near chernobyl. Some might find this useful too.

Ah, yes. Hashima island. I've seen many a picture of there, though there's a few new ones for my collection on that site.

Thanks for the link Arcturus.

Wow, awesome.

Arcturus, I love the ferris wheel addition. I might have to see what could be done for my game.

I really ought to revisit my post-apoc stuff.

Thanks this is really an inspiration for all post-apocalypse gamers. Why do I think about some coast pirates....  8) It's more realistic than "waterworld" - poor Kevin Costner.  >:D

Here's an abandoned hospital in New York. Check out the weathering and the extent that plant life has taken over. I am not sure about the hospital but the island was finally abandoned in the 1950s.

Excellent pics! Thanks for the links, everyone. My own contribution is also from New York: its a little place I just learned about called King's Park and is an abandoned psychiatric center. I was recently regaled with creepy stories about a friend's visit to the place:

I was already thinking about using this place as inspiration for my own post-apoc structures when I saw this thread. Too fitting not to post.

Please note that there are far more ruined buildings and areas documented on the site with Hashima:
