New Model Daleks
« on: June 07, 2010, 09:21:13 PM »
It seems that these will be pacakaged with the next issue of Doctor Who Adventures, No 170, due out on Thursday 10 June:

Fingers crossed that they'll be of a useable size!

Certainly worth a punt if they're the right size.

Those Daleks have definitely got the hump!

Still not 100% on the new redesign but as you say worth a go...

The old ones released with the magazine were a little larger than the micro-universe ones, less detailed but passable, these look ok, off to the Mark VI golf paint shop then for their hot hatch colours!

:D

So what would be the ideal size for these. 30mm to the top? They look to contain enought detail for a good paint job.

The last free DALEKS from that mag were pretty good but a bit soft on details...I did this with them:

I just couldn't face painting all those little blobs  :o .

They were also used in a boardgame, and I see from Forbidden Planet International's list of upcoming Doctor Who merch that there are a couple of new boardgames due out soon - maybe they'll have these new economy hatchback Daleks as playing pieces?

Well the new designs are taller than the old:

Probably end up buying them, and will resist the urge to jump up and down on them.
