Range modifiers question
« on: June 12, 2010, 05:33:31 AM »
Do the range modifiers given on the To Hit modifiers table stack with the Short and long range modifiers on the weapons table? Example An SMG gets a +1 for close range and a shooter gets +1 at short range.

I didn't realise they didn't stack!  In all my games, we have been playing that a LMG gets +2 at short range (+1 for LMG and +1 for short as per the main table).  Is that wrong?  (Doesn't seem to have affected the games too much, except when the CV35 tankettes get very close to the Ethiopians, but would be nice to know the intent.)

well...my intention was they did not stack. On the other hand...in case it works well you can keep it.
During play testing we thought hitting would be too easy for very effective close range weapons.
My opinion to modifiers is very simple.  Feel free to use those modifiers you think you need for the game.
We use negative modifiers for intervening terrain ( when it makes sense ) although they are not mentioned in the modifier table.
Well... this thread made my mind up. I will play the next games stacking the modifiers.
Thank you skrapwelder and James.
