Resin Field Trebuchet
« on: June 13, 2010, 11:31:28 AM »
Hi!

While sculpting other stuff for a shop (and casting, that's an ugly job!!!) i spent 2 evenings while watching movies for sculpting a trebuchet.

I know that the big ones should be around 15 mts, but this is a field one, used mainly against troops.

it is a resin kit, even if there are some parts that have to be made separately, I didn't meant to commercialize it, but if someone is interested, i could think about! :P

hope you like

Cheers,

Jack

That's cool, really well done. Who do you normally sculpt for?

thanks! :)

i sculpt for an italian shop-site, actually it is a painting site, good quality of painting and really friendly (much better than dragon painting service or stuff like that). We're starting a line of "homemade" products: I cast a few pieces for them, they don't invest many money in a wide scale production and make the profits on the painting.

quite strange, but really good for me! :)

i've casted this thebuchet this morning, i'll paint it as soon as i can... :)

Very  nice and depending  on how it scale up to 28mm figures I would be very  tempted  in a couple if you ever did produce them

its base is 9 x 5 cm, and it is 8-15 cms tall, depending of the position! :)
I can cast and send them to you, but you have to make the rope and the "copper" part, because it is made after the casting! :)
it is made of 10 parts, plus the copper and rope addons!

I'm sure Rabbitz would have no problem with them. You should see his scenery, it's unbelievable.

Those are amazing. Hard to believe you are only 20 and making things like those.

I love the blue orc too. Grenadier models right?  :)

I reckon you could sell them, you would just need to write a guide on how to 'finish' it in the way you have.  :)

you know the best part? it tooks less than 4 hours for sculpting and 2 for moulding! :P

actually, now i'm involved in sculpting medieval and wwii buildings, so i can only work in small periods, between different projects! :P

just to know, what do you think should be the right price for the "incomplete kit"?

Can you send me a PM or post on here how much you want for 2 of them plus postage to Australia.   These look too nice to pass up on.... (providing the price is right)

i have no idea about the price, that's why i'm asking you which is the right one!

i'm afraid that the shipping to australia should become quite expensive, because i'm just a private and have no convenient fees...
I've checked right now to the italian postal service, and it is ridicolously expensive.

does anyone knows other cheaper ways?
