Seeds of War, the newest project
« on: June 15, 2010, 06:13:02 AM »
Recently our group decided (aka, I spotted it at Salute, told the rest about it, and they said `lets try that`) to give the 6mm game Seeds of War a shot.

Much planning *cough* later we are going to start one of the weeks with 250 points to `get to know` the game, and started painting up our forces.  The dividing of forces proved to be 3 people choosing the Andrayada, 2 the Pax and one lonely man the lizardy Kraytonians (aka, me).

I went for a color scheme vaguely reminding of Farscape`s Scarran Empire, a red and grey combo, as to differ from the usually blueish of greenish armies seen when surfing around the Dark Realms forum and linkies pages.

Command with Aurika transports

Rakkat Riders, the `dino rider` units was the sole deciding factor for me in choosing that race

Monitor troops together with a small rocky terrain piece quickly knocked together from plastic lightsabre holders from the SW CGM

Arkalest Heavy Tanks

The ace weapon, Gara teleporters with Kameli troops

and the obligatory class picture

Cheerios!

Nice one!

I tried this ame a year or so ago and found it worked quite well. I like the army you have chosen too! Same reason!  lol

I look forward to seeing where this goes, perhaps show your friend's armies too.  :)

My middle son is contempleting 6mm armies.  How much did it cost you to put together yours?  He is on a limited budget (like his father) and wants to get a lot of value.  I'd also be interested in how the rules worked for you.  Thanks for sharing.
This is my boomstick!

Dark Realm do army deals starting from £25, and the rules are free.

As soon as those slackers (you read here, you know who you are) get theirs painted, I will  :D

Small batrep (sorry, text in dutch) of the very first effort we did past friday.  We no doubt had a whole heap of rules wrong, but the goal was to get the game mechanic tested, hence the little amount of terrain etc to make sure how move / fire / assault / morale impacted on a game.

Conclusion of the first outing: no difficult rules, and the magic number on which the whole engine crunches is 10.
