I use an old mug with a chip in it for my paint water. I have a couple more to hold my paint brushes. I drink bottled water when painting to keep from making that mistake. Also I have water on hand if I need to thin a paint bottle or ad to my paint water.

Love my cup-warmer. It is an essential piece of workbench equipment!
Keeps the old moloko-chai nice and warm while I'm lost in the details.  :D

I've recently established a spot on the shelf just to the left of my workbench that can hold a pint glass (homebrewing beer means having to work real hard to run out of beer...) or a coffee mug. It's out of elbow range and (importantly!) on the far side of the bench from the container of painting water!

Should post a pic of my current bench soon, it's been a while and I've moved since putting up the last pic earlier on this thread.

Hi - I am so envious of some of these work benches, even the one under the stairs.

I thought I would post a pic of mine for the last 4 years during the majority of the summer.

This is in the South of France with the rain pouring down  :?

Take Care

Actually, I'm a little jealous. You didn't choose between travel and painting. Good for you!  8)

Since moving from the UK to Wisconsin I've lost my studio space, but have re-imagined the closet in our spare bedroom / den.

I can just close the doors on it and walk away and nobody is the wiser for my mess :)

A walk-in hobby room  lol

Very cool - I actually feel myself a bit jealous of your ability to hide away your stuff like that. I do, of course, have my work stations in our study/office/hobby room, which can also be closed off, but I have to share that with the rest of the family, and my stuff is not protected from dust the same way.

That's very similar to what my daughter did in her room for a desk/study area.

Very nice.

Not exactly my workspace, but I gave my daughters these as an extra present for Christmas, and hope they will be used for painting the odd mini in between other hobby projects  ;)

I have a couple of extra pot-holders WIP in the workshop in the garage (short pieces of lath with a 30mm hole drilled with a paddle drill) - I just need to finish sanding them to a smooth finish.

I wrote a bit about the paint stations on my blog, if anybody should have interest...

This is my "Frankendesk" painting station I made last summer. Its about 90% recycled/scrap wood. The darn varnish has yellowed since these pictures were taken, but its still serving me well.

That Frankendesk looks pretty sweet!  There are times when I wish I could amp the aesthetic of my work table but there is either a project on the go, a rat's nest, or both in progress  :-[.  Somewhere in the bowels is an old metal hope chest I intend to work over and re-purpose into an upright cabinet but there are too many distractions to make the commitment.

I forced myself to shelf projects to build it. I took away my old painting table before I finished it too, that way I had to finish it or I couldn't paint.

 Greetings!

This is my first-ever post here, so not sure if it will post properly.

Perhaps my best project ever.  After this photo was taken, I proclaimed to the project, "LIVE"!  Suddenly, it woke, stood, stretched, and trotted away!  :o

Oh, and that's my workbench. :D
