Yes, that was a good find on Amazon, Quendil. There's a link to it on page 6 of my old west town thread:

On this pic :

On the right bottom corner, I see "big" paint bottles, can you tell us what it is ? I'm currently searching for a paint range to fill the gap between my small model paint and my beaux arts paints.

thank you !

sundayhero, from the label these paints are 'docrafts Artiste All Purpose Acrylic Paint'. I pick them up from a craftshop for about £1.25 to £1.50 a bottle. 59ml in a bottle. I've seen them on eBay too. I use the dark grey as my standard primer for miniatures. There is a very good range of colours and they are very useful for covering large areas when you don't want to use your expensive paint.

However, do be aware, some of them (and it varies) do not cover very well, some do, some don't. Caveat Emptor!  ;)

Good to know, thank you !

For now I filled this gap in my paint collection with paint samples pots, I'll take a pic tonight. They are about 2.50euros for 75ml, wich is apparently a good price, but the range is limited (since a lot of references are really focused on home improvement instead of miniature warrior or terrain painting  lol).

here's a little copy/past article from my blog about my workstation:

This is my work station. This is where I build and paint the models and scenery. I like to keep everything at arms length so I can just sit down and work. My work station isn’t always as tidy as you see it in the pictures. When I start a new project, say a unit, tank or some bits of scenery I try to start with an empty desk but during the project I tend forget my Clean Desk Policy and there are bottles of paint, glue, sprues, etc, etc everywhere and I end up with a working space of about 12”x 12”. I have bought a lot of different hobby tools over the past 10 years and not in this picture is the mountain of stuff I have accumulated to use one day for a special project, a bit of scenery or just can’t part with.

I currently use two types of paint. I still have a lot of citadel paints from the time I did a lot of Games Workshop but in the past 3 years I have made the transition to Vallejo paints. I have about 100 Citadel pots and about 150 Vallejo bottles I use. I have an airbrush that I use for priming and base coating infantry models, vehicles are painted mostly with the airbrush (Harder & Steenbeck evolution silverline) but I use a normal brush for the details on infantry models.

In these pictures you can see I’m doing a lot of Bolt Action. For the past 3 years I have made a couple of gaming tables, boxes full of scenery and 4 different armies. I have a British, US Marines, Germans and Japanese army and all armies range from 1200 to 3000 points. I have two Ikea Detolf cabinets in which I keep some of my painted models. Not really clear in this picture but at the bottom of the cabinets you can see my 40K Orks, my first love so to speak and they are still very dear to me.

I cleaned my room so thought I'd take a photo of my work area whilst it was presentable. As you can see things get a little cramped when I'm working on tutorials.

I recently had to downsize; this is the new painting area. Half the table size. Really made me think about what I needed out and ready.

I love that idea of building little mini-dioramas to display your miniatures in those  cases.  Consider that idea stolen!   ;)

You know what they say, your workspace represents the inside of your head. Thx to the help of a friend with simple to follow rules I went from this:

A nice closure to a turbulent period. Now I can actually paint again :)

Whoohoo! Trying to do same over here. Care to share the rules?

Nothing too difficult tbh.

Look at the mess. Draw a a line across a small part of it (not literally!). Clean that part. Enjoy the moment. Get annoyed by the rest of the mess. Draw another line. Repeat. Do this every time you sit down to surf the web or prep to paint. It only takes 10 minutes max and is super easy to do. I'm finding that now my 2 workstations are cleared, I'm attacking my cluttered cabinets in the same way. 1 part of a shelf at a time. Bin, sell or keep what you find. Repeat.

Simple, childish even maybe. But it works for me  ;)
