The only reason to get up at Five is to go on holiday. No other cause would get me out of bed at that hour. Not even if the house were burning down around me.

The day the house was burning down around me I waited until Seven before getting up. The smoke was bearable until then. I am not a morning person.

It has worked out much better than I had thought it would and I'm still managing to get in about two hours of painting daily (one before work and one after Rocco is in bed).

Painting before work  :o

You know, I've been meaning to do this painting before work thing. I generally have 2-3 hours between taking the missus to work and setting off to the trenches myself, but nine times out of ten I end up on the couch with the computer in my lap, watching Dr. Who or League of Gentlemen on Netflix.

I am very impressed, to get 2 hours in and build and stripdown your workbench! Major respect!

I am up to get the missus up at 6 and have some twiddle thumbs time myself in the morning, I sometimes get a bit of modelling in, but to break out the paints I would get sucked in I think and constantly be late for work!

I lack discipline  :D:(

One key factor in all of this is that it only takes about two to three minutes to wheel the cabinet in and open everything up. Before I had the case and cabinet I only made my discipline check about half the time.  lol

I wake up at 5, sculpt until 8 then go to uni at 9. Come home at 4, go to work at 5 and come back at 10.

Life sucks.

When I was at university I took a portable table, paints and figures in the car to work on at lunch and between classes-guess that's why my social life sucked. lol  Now I get up at 5:30 and after my morning chores (wait till you have kids and too many pets that demand attention every morning) I squeeze about 20 min of painting in while waiting for the misses so we can commute to work. Any other painting must wait till the clan is settled for the night.

lol

I used to take the 12 from Kenilworth to Coventry Uni, but it went through Warwick Uni and all the Cov towns which took it an hour!
I take the X17 now, which takes 15-20 minutes.

Kenilworth is about 8-10 miles away from Cov by the way!  lol

Just not used to the buses round here. Abingdon to Oxford took 10 minutes! But costed £4!!!! £4!
I dunno.  ;D

Hey its California, if you don't have a car by the time your in Univeristy there is something wrong with the world ;D Strarting in Spring all Friday campus classes would end by noon so we could head to the nearest beach for the begining of the "weekend" classes. Our beach was Avila so this "class" was called Avila 101-who ever said the '70's were dull.... :-*

My painting table and computer (and a large glass of some dark brew :-X) in its "clean" state. Picture from the start of May. Too much of my lead and plastic mountain is buried away in air-free containers, not that even a 1/8 of it could ever fit on the waiting shelves.

There's my Neo-Sov infantry platoon and specialists and a few zombies I plan on painting sometime in the future and a tyranid broodnest up top, Tau, Valhallans and veteran troopers on the right, a lot of stuff of various genres on the left and underneath, a small portion of my GW bits in various containers on bottom left, and part of my on-going commission with a friend as well as some NBC troopers I plan to continue painting after I finish my commission.

Anyone seen my kippers? I know they were in there somewhere.

Hey Everyone!

Aaron's mobile painting station inspired me to build my own.

It would be easier for me to paint in the evening but in order to spend time with the wife it's hard to do.  She likes to work on her laptop while watching TV and there is no TV in my painting room.

So, I dug out an old typing desk that came from the High School across the street and adapted it.  Casters were put on the legs and a new, slightly larger, top was attached (the old top broke apart).

They're hard to see in the picture but there is a small drawer under the area where the mat is and a pull out board to lay papers on under the area where the light is.

Now I can roll it into the same room where she, and the TV, are.

BTW - I do plan to stain, and seal, the top.

For those of you who are curious, the dresser behind the table contains terrain building supplies.

Nice job and glad I provided some inspiration! Great idea to add the light and book stand! I have a similar lamp and would like to do something similar, but I'm probably better off waiting until my son is a little more under control. Right now he'd see it as a grab handle to hoist himself up on the cabinet!
