I'm doing a big clean-up on my work room as well as the rest of the house. Thought I would take some before pictures and track my progress as I refurnish my workspace.

Figure storage in the left cabinet and finished terrain pieces in the right cabinet. Casting gets done on the table in the middle with mold storage in the map cabinet below. The side cabinets have roll up doors that help keep the dust out.

My painting desk. Probably better off blurry.

A worktable with storage underneath. Large, difficult projects get stationed here until lost or forgotten about.

What a huge wargame dedicated room!  :)

Here's a post on my blog featuring my desk now and 6 months ago! I hope the changes aren't continuous!  ;D

My workbench. Or at least the progress of it's evolution.

Version 1 - This is how it started.

Version 2 - It evolved a little bit.

Version3 - More paint pots were added and so it had to evolve some more.

Update (11 August 2012)

Version 3 - This is what it looks like now

Found away to get more room in my work shop, was in BBQ when I saw keyboard slides, bought a set and put them on, also found some one who makes paint racks to suit my small work shop, bought two for my Vallejo paint bottles, for ink's washes and most commonly used colours.

jnr: It's delightful to see small spaces used so efficiently, but I think I'd get claustrophobic in there!   :o

Here's my workspace in 2008:

Since then I've noticed I tend to go places to paint, and I get claustrophobic if I'm buttoned up in the office for too many months (yes, months) at a time.  My painting has become much more mobile - paint case, working space on the detachable lid, minis and supplies in a pistol case, and two lights - it all fits in a little gardening bag when I want to go to the game store or in-laws' to paint:

Now, the shelves of completed minis (9) and arctic-camo figures (2)...that's another matter.

Just skimmed through this thread and it's made me realise the one thing i hate about the hobby...all the damn clutter.

Doesn't matter how organised i try to be (and you guys too), the workbench and storage is always cluttered.   o_o

That goes for the tabletop too...all those dice, markers, tapes, etc. cluttering up the battlefield.

Other than that, there are some pretty sweet set-ups you guys have.   :D

Been out of the game for a while as I had to pack up my stuff and vacate my painting area so that a bunch of plumbers could tear up the floorboards and put in a new heating/water system. Then there was redecorating the room, and then Christmas, and then something else, probably.

But now I'm back, baby! And here's my new layout:

Not very tidy by Teutonic standards, but believe me, that is staggeringly neat for me.

I don't know what's behind that door. And from the strange gurgling noises and scratching sounds I don't want to know.

(It's a regular door that works in the normal way, it just isn't in use. If you opened it you would be see the back of a wardrobe, or possibly Narnia.)

Today I have been swapping from this

to this

A carpenter I am not and although great for Foundry style (I shamelessly copied the Miniaturicum one) I forgot the craft paints are actually wider bottles ::) It will have to do for now.
