Here's mine lads, from a few months ago. Before I had to pack it all up for the move.  :'(

The bench is a Ikea butcher block/ kitchen island. Best bench I ever had.

That's was one tidy bench B6, I hadn't though  of using a butcher's block for a modelling table.

@ Bezzo - the cheese was excellent - although the car was a bit pungent when we brought it back from the continent.

Thanks Ramirez. It's great for small spaces (mine is in the breakfast nook in the kitchen) and I wish I'd thought of it sooner.

I've always been jealous when reading this thread. Some of the set ups here are stunning. Unfortunately I don't have the space for a fixed set up, and until recently I was forced to pack away all my painting equipment when I'd finished. As you can imagine, this prove to be a real drag and actually put me off painting. Annoying me no end I decided to take some action.

I spent quite a few of my lunchtimes working on this project. I took some inspiration for the old GW painting station (quite a bit actually). I also designed the workbench to fit snugly into a shelves on my desk- meaning that I can leave everything set up.

Hopefully this wee bench should increase the frequency of my painting, by allowing me a wee 5 minutes here and there. The material is 6mm sheet acrylic.

Cheers
Andy

This is wonderful. Could you share your build perhaps? Dimensions and materials would be very helpful.

Here's mine, it was an old computer table that I repurposed. We can rebuild it, we have the technology.

Me: "Phwooar! Wow! Oh yeah, fantastic! Look at the rack on that!"
The Mrs: "What are you looking at?"
Me: ( hurriedly covering laptop screen ) "Oh...er...nothing! Nothing much at all."
The Mrs: "You're looking at photos of other people's workbenches again aren't you?"
Me: ( hangs head ) "Yes dear...."
The Mrs: "Why can't you use the internet for looking at porn like a normal man?"

Better tidy up my bench....or maybe convert the garage...?

As today is the last day of the year I thought I would have a quick dive into the mess:

18 bits of fence requiring flock
8 ice rock piles needing another coat of scenic cement
1 ice bridge awaiting basing and possible ice edging
1 test ice bridge with ice being added

12 Kobolds awaiting putting away till I can paint them up and buy the other few I need
6 Kobolds being stripped of their paint
2 Packs of Inuit unopened (sledge and huskies)
1 set of Luftles awaiting trimming
1 small pile of ruins awaiting put-away
1 box of 12 / 13 6mm buildings from Total Battle Miniatures (ACW / Cowboys)
? 6mm figures (around 50 / 60)

In various stages of painting:

12 set of pipe work
3 Musk ox
1 Sabre Tooth Tiger (big beast)
2 Inuit (15mm)
8 Cave men (15mm)
1 15mm sledge with 3 dogs
1 four legged polar bear
1 ten legged polar bear
4 Yeti
4 Splintered Light Mice
1 Viking boat (toy from Yorvik) for a possible game
5 Bits of wire security fence
3 wooden rail fences
1 6mm building awaiting the glue drying on the tufts to photo and post here
1 28mm GW skeleton
1 15mm GZG NI
2 Giant penguin idols
1 small box of 'bits' - hex shapes, bug holes, ruins etc.

Then the odd bits:

1 really grotty cup (tea)
1 paperclip
2 tubes of glue
2 CDs used as pallets and stands
8 pots of paint
1 pot of flex paste
1 pot of gel
2 CompactFlash cards
1 pot of Superglue
1 pair of tweezers
1 craft knife (already bitten me today)
1 pack of green turf mix and test stick
1 tube of PVA
1 box of white rocks
1 sheet of ice plastic
1 dinosaur tail and skull
1 pot of brush water (seen better days - looks like the Humber if that helps)
1 tube of cold sore cream
1 spray screen / glasses cleaner

Not bad for the end of the year - should keep me busy till Jan at this rate lol

Happy New Year all

Though to be fair:

1) The 6mm shed is in the room having shown my wife it last year.
2) I forgot 4 6mm ACW and 1 15mm pig
3) That's a new cup of tea

Now wait till tonight - I'll post the difference up with luck  :o

Finally built my mobile paint station!

Hooray!
Less marital issues in my household now I can paint downstairs away from my man cave!
Saving the last bullet... just in case.

See my wonderful BLOG of stuff!
