FIW Rangers, Marines, Highlanders
« on: June 16, 2010, 09:49:47 PM »
Some Conquest and Eureka FIW I recently completed.  A joy to paint.

Ooooh, much goodness.   :-*  Very, very nice.

I have some of the Highlanders to paint (though they will be to a lesser standard than yours!) but am somewhat fearful of the tartan.  Could you explain how you dealt with yours?  :)
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Thanks SI.  The tartans are pretty simple, believe it or not; this diagram shows roughly step by step, how I painted them.

Add highlights and shade as you like, if you are feeling ambitious. the key is really just being patient and making sure your lines are straight and the angles square up.

Thanks very much - that's the sort of guide I like, simple and to the point.  Cheers.   :)

Beautiful minis.  And has been stated the tartan is great.  Your guide will be useful to me as well.  These are figures to be proud of.
This is my boomstick!

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Nicely done. I've painted a lot of the same figures and they really are a joy.

That's very similar to the way, Jenova does it. Not genuine tartan, but a very effective proxy.  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
