Played first game . Pic Heavy!
« on: June 20, 2010, 07:18:03 PM »
hello all,
Played first game of T+T yesterday. really enjoyed it. We played a scenario from the Skirmish campaign series 'Tanga'. It was the British attack on the outskirts of Tanga with germans defending. I'm hoping to put up some pics but being a complete mong in IT, could someone give me a few pointers about posting pics on the forum?

Many thanks

Thank you all for your help. I've now got a photobucket account and will now have a go at posting some pics of our game. It's late and the football was bad so I'm only going to post a couple of pics to see how this goes.
The scenario is lifted from the Skirmish campaigns series which I originally read about on one of Plynkes' posts. The British are attempting to seize the outskirts of Tanga in East Africa. They must try and hold four buildings.
Set up at the beginning

I use Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) where you can just upload pictures onto for free (and A LOT of them) and then just cut and paste the IMG code into your posts.

As am I!  lol

It is reall quite simple and even I've managed to do it successfully - just follow the advice in Hauptgefreiter's link, get a photobucket account and you should be fine.

Look forward to seeing the pics

No we didn't.It arrived a couple of days after the event. Hopefully I'll have the pics up over the weekend.(Now, where did I put that camera?)
The guys who played all enjoyed the ruleset. I'm considering adopting it for my upcoming VSF campaign.Useful stuff in the Colonial supplement for that too.

Nice - I especially like the terrain boards in the first few shots.

The battle continues...
Lay of the land before set up

The British start off in the ditch and make a cautious advance using all available cover.

The Germans hasten to re deploy and fight using delaying tactics to slow down the numerically superior British force.

A unit of shutztruppen make it to the woods but cannot see the enemy nor be seen.

The British troops march on, the unitb leader is reluctant to lead a charge into the woods.

Neither side wants to break cover despite my jeering(I was umpiring)

We classed the edge of the jungle as being inpenetrable for sight purposes.
Eventually, the German player plucks up the courage to charge, just making it through the woods.

A fierce battle was fought down the other flank but I forgot to photograph it(duh!) A unit of Germans managed to slow up the British advance and inflict a few casualties but lost half their squad.

The close combat results in a British unit being brutally wiped out by the more experienced native warriors.

The British counter attacked, winning but their advance was blunted and they lacked the numbers to continue the advance successfully on that flank.

The final push by the British results in the troops receiving large numbers of pinned counters thanks to German rifle and HMG accuracy.

The British player throws a sulk(actually he's Dutch!) and declares that he has no chance as his men are being picked off too easily and he now lacks the troops to take the town. Victory to the Germans.

All the players really enjoyed themselves and I had to fudge the rules a few times because I couldn't remember/find stuff. We'd definitely play again. Hope you enjoy the pics/report :)

Thanks, I can't take credit for the terrain board as it belongs to our club and was made by a very talented and experienced member.

I like the board too. Excellent figures. I just love to see this kind of game reports.
