Painting Plastic Palm Tree Fronds
« on: June 22, 2010, 03:15:02 AM »
Guys, I have a ton of GW plastic palm trees, Pegasus Palm trees and some Heroscape plastic palms and am looking for a way to paint them to look less "plastic" and perhaps a little uniformed. Can anyone recommend a spray color or even a craft pot color for this?

Thanks in advance.

I found a flat green color that was part of a "Camoflage" color spray paint set.  I used it on all the fronds, and then added back a little depth with a darker green wash.  The trunks I did sort of the reverse, a dark brown spray and drybrushed with a khaki.  If you are building a jungle, then spray paint is the only way to go.  I also used lots of aquarium plants and different sizes of palm trees., even those little cake decorating ones.
Good luck

Thanks leadfool. I'll have to hit the craft shops and see what I can find. I have the trunks how I want them, it's the fronds that are giving me the trouble.  :?

I  actually found the camoflage paint in a regular hardware store spray paint section.
