West Wind has a dedicated range abt Dr. Moreau in their gothic horror range under the title of "the island of Dr. Mereaux"
http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=2_85

I do not know whether they are the best available, but seeing the rest of the ranges they are interested.

Some other suitable might be found in some fantasy ranges.

As for the card army: find some suitable card images from the net, adjust the size and print them on some card paper. Glue them on some base and voila!

Here's the link to Fuzzy's blog with pics of the tripod Eureka will be releasing:

Monolith Games also sell Tripods as do Scheltrum (the jury is still out on these tripods until some pics are posted).

There's also the scrathbuilding option, admittedly I commissioned Svennn to build mine but I got what I wanted:

The best I've seen were the old Comet Miniatures resin and metal Tripod based on the Jeff Wayne art. Out of production these days and they weren't cheap when they came out but they turn up on ebay etc periodically (I have two :) )
So many projects..... so little time.......

Is this the one you mean? I think it's the old Comet design taken over by someone else.

The Reviresco looks close, just needing the pod to be hung from below where the legs come together.

That looks like it yeah. Lovely looking model but a bit of a pain to assemble.

Had a browse through the Frontier site and spotted this...

That's another Comet one. Hmm, wonder if Frontier got the old Nautilus model too......

Hey Thunderchicken we never did see a finished picture of your Tripod painted??

Cheers
Fuzzy.

As for my Tripod, I have to get my act together and write the assembly instructions and give them to Eureka. They have ten tripods sitting on the shelf waiting  :?

Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Having seen Fuzzy's Tripods in the flesh a few times, I have to say that they're damn impressive. Almost two feet of Martian tripod will dwarf anything on the table.
