Looking great.  Maybe some shoulder patches or insignia would be a nice tough.

I'm not sure whether insignia is used for Halo...I'll have to have a look.

...but in the mean time, I'm looking to have a pair of high ranking officers who travel in these:

...they are a bit tricky to convert because they are part die-cast...but I'm getting there :).

First one all converted:

...and the latest WIP for the HALO project:

(The gun is from Maxi-Mini).

I've seen those conversions before and they are really sweet!

The only difference is that he started with an injection kit rather than a part die-cast one...have you ever worked with die-cast stuff for conversions?  They are a complete wotsit to cut :(

His are also a much larger scale (probably 1/35th).  Speaking of which, I have a couple of those at 1/35th too...maybe something for a future project :) ...AND of course, he is much better at the hobby than I want to be (weathering?  no chance I'll be doing anything like that in the near future ;) ).

Thanks for the pic digit!

yeah well don't set your sights too low! ;)
I meant just as inspiration. diecast kits are a pain to work with, but going by everything else you've presented I'm sure you'll get something out of them. The conversion you've done on the primed one makes it look 10x better already, even without a decent paint job.

I was also thinking the different colour Halo marines would be great for a game of 'Frag!'.

Yes, the grey one has been shortened.  There are more pix here (there always will be):

http://insosworld.blogspot.com/

...just scroll down a couple of pix and you'll get multiple angles.

@ digit:  I don't set my sights too low, I work to achieve what I think is possible in the time frame I allow...generally it doesn't allow for weathering and the like ;) .

Sorry the setting your sights too low was meant tongue in cheek as you manage to achieve great results and well lets face it fichtenfoo is in a league all of his own where us mere mortals can just look on in awe!

I didn't take it as a dig  :D ...no worries there.  A lot of people have said that my stuff was OK but could do with a bit of weathering and chips to the armour etc.  It really isn't my bag but seeing what other people can achieve is pretty cool too.

Have you read the text that goes with the pix?  He wasn't happy with it because he says the base is boring and it looks static...blooming perfectionists!!!
