Star Wars minis for VSF
« on: July 02, 2010, 04:36:41 AM »
Just had me a thought. How about using some of those Star Wars clicky dealies for VSF? I think those Droid troopers could make great clockwork soldiers with a little work. Change up their guns to something more appropriate, jam some gears here and there, maybe a smoke stack and pop a shako or kepi on their heads. Voilà!

Those Geonosans (sp?) could make good Selinites too.

Somebody should try this out.

I use Geonosians for Selinites/Bugmen. I've got some Imperial/Republic Guard with weapon swaps and some head alterations that act as Temple Guards in lost temples etc. The Scrap Golem makes a great VSF constuct and I've seen the Tank Droid turned into other things rather well.

There are some useful things if you look :)

They definitely have potential. I’ve been converting several Wookies to Sasquatch in Canadian / British service. They make some very characterful flankers and close combat specialists. I’ve armed them with a mixture of  Tommyguns, Boys AT carbines and close combat weapons for a Pulp setting but using Star Wars mini’s for VSF shouldn’t be a problem.
Tank? Vot kind of dumbkopf name is that for a Schutzengrabenvernichtungspanzer?

I bought some from the comic shop in sunny Rhyl, and it really is sunny there at the moment, with the same intention. The big wheeled Hailfire droid almost looks like a giant clockwork engine without doing anything to it.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

I had a thought of having the Hailfire Doid as some sort of towed gun carriage behind a dinosaur... then I sobered up.   o_o

:o Well friggin' done! Oh, at the risk of repeating myself...  :o

Wait a minute; has certain VW bug qualities...  ;)

Have plenty Hailfires for use, never thought of as towed. Brilliant! I shall immediately seek appropriate draft 'saurs...

There have been plenty of folk using Mage Knight, D&D, even Heroclix for conversions, or even as is. No need to stop there; I've some old Dreamblade hive thingies that shall someday be Venusian plant men.

I would love t see these! I made a unit out of heroclix figs.

Beautiful work, there.

I use the Tusken Raiders as my Martian High Desert Dwellers, armed with carbines, with small cannon mounted on their martian Giant Musk Oxen (Banthas). Never did finish painting those. Hmm. I feel sudden inspiration.

Also, a couple of Star Wars minis were sacrificed for my Alice Steam Rabbit.
