Foamcore and a rubber car mat
« on: July 16, 2010, 08:32:36 PM »
Found this matting in the shed and thought I would try it for the roofing on a Chinese house.

I have done three now and am working on some walls to make up a small village enclave

As has been said - genius. One question,  I note the nails, were there problems gluing the mat material?

I used PVA so pinned it to hold to the curve whilst it set. Two part epoxy should work but I didn't have any handy.

You might try rolling the mat up tight & leave it in a warm place for a while. most rubber mats will hold the curve for quite a while. I have found that I have to press them to get the curve out.

Absolutely brilliant!!

did you have any issues getting paint to adhere to the rubber mat?  have you pre=treated or primed in any special way?
