What are the best figures of survivors?
« on: July 18, 2010, 12:13:50 AM »
Hello, lately I have seen many post on the zombie theme, plus I'm in love with this type of film, so I have some figures a few days looking for survivors.
I know well Hasslefree figures but I would like to know that I recommended other figures.

Thanks!!!!!

PD: For the zombies I think choose the cheaper plastic miniatures from Wargames Factory.

Check out Reaper's Chronoscope line for some survivor type minis. Also Copplestone and EM4 scavengers work well for the zombie hunter types.

Zombiesmith have some fun survivors.

Britannia Inkerman do some redneck/hillbilly types

Studio Mini's have some too, but a few suffer from bobbleheaditis.

Hasslefree is my favorite.

Foundry's Street Violence range is good.

Copplestone's Future Wars.

Reaper's Chronoscope is going to have a whole bunch of new Zombie Survivors in the next few months.

You might find some useful stuff in Brigade's Atomic Cafe range.

Heresy's Trenchcoat Gangers might work for you too.

Hasslefree for survivors - given the number they now do (always with more on the workbench) frankly you don't need any other manufacturer.

Am still amazed though that people will buy the best survivor figures, and then go for the cheapest soft detailed zombies they can find...unless you are planning to flatten them with a lump hammer afterwards.. ;)

There is a list of zombie manufacturers on my blog - metal minis start from $1 a go, so its possible to amass a horde cheaply without resorting to placcy ones.

Hasslefree is probably all you need to build a fairly big survivors party, but you can also check som RAFM modern day heroes. Copplestone future wars range has also some nice figures.

You might want to consider adding some HeroClix or some HorrorClix into your collection. They are low $$$... many times less than a dollar apiece! Both ranges have miniatures that look somewhat normal. It's where I got most of my police and swat teams from.

That a look/see through here...

Err... guilty as charged here, AR:SE man!!! I think it's because we all want to play the game as soon as possible and are trying to field as many zombies as we can as soon as we can. I lowered myself to using alot of those zombies from Twilight Creations' ZOMBIES!!! game. I really DO plan on replacing them with better zeds.

 lol

In your case, i'll let you off Warren, but i'll be expecting progress reports AND photos of some painted metal zeds soon, or i'll be forced to send a hazmat team....

Nothing against placcy minis to get a game going asap - its just the soft WF ones that make little sense IMHO - the clix ones certainly look better.

Clix ones are huge though, and will look odd with other minis, especially Hasslefree

I've used a real mix - Hasslefree, Studio Miniatures, Copplestone, EM4, Mad Puppet

Personally, Hasslefree always comes up trumps, add EM4 future wars line and you're golden.

I personal avoid Reaper for survivor figures at they are often out of scale and look like giants compared to the other companies.

Er, I think the Wargames Factory zombies are HARD plastic; I'll check next time I'm down at the store, but pretty sure there's plenty-o-detail.

Still, I couldn't find which were $1 on your blog, but thought I'd add that Victory Forge have on sale a pack of 25 metal zombies for $35US. This is NOT a testimonial, as I've never bought from them.

@Criamon - sorry about the highjacking of your thread. Good luck with the zombie thing; my daughter will want piccies. You know I'll be sending the one of the zombie-hunting Elvis...

And, actually, not the least bit amazed by survivors getting the lion share of detail and money. Unless your un-undead are mere cattle waiting for slaughter, they tend to be player characters, while the zombies are the unwashed, literally, masses, faceless, occasionally literally.

Hello !!! thank all for the speedy replys.  ;)
I am sure to find many good ideas on the links you send me is for a long term project and wanted to do well.
Akula has much reason, if I look good figures for the survivors also have to use good figures for zombies.
Thank you very much again and will keep you informed about my project zombie.  ;)

PD: He did not know the figures Mad Puppet brand, although they are too "post-apocalyptic" are truly precious to other rules.  :o :o, and I think the zombies of Studio Miniatures are the best.  :-* :-*
