Excellent! I loved that film as a nipper and it's nice to see it re-imagined for the 21stC. I'm looking forward to seeing all these elements combined into a large pictorial game report  :D

Nice looking game and figures.  What rule system do you use and where were you able to get all of those Doctor Who figures?  Thanks

Cheers. Doctor is from Heresy, Daleks and K9 are the Dr Who Micro Universe figures, Robomen are the plastic troopers from EM4, Resistance figures are Copplestone, EM4 and Kallistra scavvies, TARDIS is the Glasgow police box from Fenris Games, monster is an EM4 proto-shoggoth. Capt Jack is a conversion.

I'm using the Dr Who Miniatures Game. It's free from here:

More rules and suitable figures from here:

Clever use for the EM4 troopers . They make rather good modern Robomen.

Brilliant stuff! Love the Robomen - bit cheaper than the BTD option!

What did you use for the saucer?

... and what happened to Peter Cushing?!  ;)

lol The saucer is the ex-Testors kit, now produced by Lindberg.

Cheaper than BTD is right. The scenarios are based on the TV story rather than the film, but the Robomen in the TV series look crap, plus I can use the EM4 troopers as generic security troops in other Who/near future games. The Cthulhu beastie represents the Slyther, a nasty resident of Skaro, but the Slyther in the TV story looks like a burst bin bag.

I prefer to buy figures I can use in several different games, especially if they only appeared in one story. As long as Daleks look like Daleks, Cybermen look like Cybermen and the Doctor is recognisable as one of the doctors, then I'll buy different figures to represent other races etc.

Quite right! That BTD slyther is terrible!

Think I remember trawling ebay and spotting that kit - didn't know it was still in production - cheers for the tip!

Got any other good tips - like models for Invasion style Cyberships?!

To be fair the story's Slyther was pretty bad anyway, and the Beeb actually changed it mid-production.

Actually bought the saucer for my 1950s alien invasion project, not as impressive as AEG's Dalek saucer made from wall clocks, but satisfyingly big.

Sorry can't help about Cyberships. AEG and Auton might have some suggestions.

Yep, terrain and figures were all chosen to fit the scenarios in that supplement.
