the long columns were not cut. Just divided into 3 sections with a small saw, to form le line separting each section of the column.
The small part (one section long) were cut to the require size.
i keep the construction as simple as possible because my time is counted !
Young childrens at home are time consuming for modern father like me

For practical information, the floor is made with home wallpaper. a kind of mix between paper and rubber with relief...

no no, only polystyrene, like the cubes.
All wrap with paper handkerchief coat with varnish-glue. It's make the polystyrene  stronger and hard ! I made my rock with it too (on the pics they are not finished).

Are these figures generally available in French toy shops? I'm asking because we are off to Brittany soon for our holidays. I'm sure I could manage a couple of purchases by bribing Mrs Maximus with a nice bottle of red wine

Very nice work! I love the look. I am such a fan of ancient Greek mythology. I would love to game it with terrain that looks like that.
