Akula, all the doors in my builds have functioning doors. That's usually the longest part of a build. That and windows.

The regular interior doors are made using a simple piece of thin cardboard attached with two pieces of masking tape and then covered with whatever door texture I want to use. Then I need to hide the masking tape with a wall texture...ugh.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a bar hinge. The technique I use for the swinging front doors involves using a piece of floral wire and affixing the door to it. Then drilling holes for the wire in the base and in the piece of foam board at the top to support the top and bottom of the wire. This works with foam board walls. The doorway should be trimmed with thick card paper as I find just the foam of the foam board not strong enough. I can post a mini tutorial if needed.

The ambulance bay doors are to be sliding doors but will be represented with a drop in door as that's much easier to do. I love your idea of representing doors in different states (idea is now stolen) and will be doing that.

Cheers

stunning worl and idea

I do have compassion if someone is a bit touchy about certain topics (since I am myself sometimes), and IMHO so should all.
I must confess however that my first thought when I saw the build was:
"now someone is really going to RPG ER or Grey's Anatomy or what?"   ;) ;) ;)

for my part, a "Kill Bill" scenario with a sexy blond nurse could be more appaling ;)

There's the zombie remains of the frother's sculpting comp 2009 on the bazaar at present, patient zero is a must!

Love the skirting and door frames, rule 32: Enjoy the little things! :D

How are you doing the floors ?

Just drawn-on tiling or something textured ?

Fastolfrus, the floors are textures printed on light weight card stock and glued to the base. Assembled in GIMP and/or Photoshop from scratch or various sources online.

Commander, I have the Frothers patient zero in the pile already. Why else build this? Isn't it obvious it's just one huge display stand? The little details are what makes a build 'pop' and doesn't look right without it IMO. More little things to come. Thanks.

Had a lots of spare moments this week (too many in the middle of the night) and charged along with the build. Managed to complete most of the interior work. Furniture is scratch built, photoshopped, or reinforced cardmodels. Still needs some cleanup work. Where are those 28mm janitors when you need them?

Cheers

Overview:
Note that the building sign at the outside front is magnetic and can be changed as needed.

Diagnostics (MRI room)

" width="800" height="404" border="0[/url]

The diagnostics/MRI is a module that pops out so I can change the function of this room. The doctor's lounge furniture still needs to be assembled.

Across the hall from diagnostics are the two exam rooms, which are essentially identical save a few cosmetic items. Still needs chairs and maybe a doctor's desk

View of the hallway to the ambulance bay entrance.

The two trauma bays are identical.

The ambulance bay:

With zombie damaged door option.

Note that the vending machines and storage racks at the end of the corridors are removable to allow connection to the planned phase 2 hospital expansion (when I get to it). Otherwise it stays as a small scale medical centre.

Still need to build the roof (haven't settled on a design yet), build some of the furniture for the doctors' lounge, and add some hedges to the front.

Cheers
