Anglo Indian Cavalry Brigade on my blog
« on: July 19, 2010, 07:33:10 PM »
Playing with my blog today. Some pics of my 28mm Anglo-Indian cav brigade are up. Later entries will cover the infantry, artillery and baggage. http://rabbitsinmybasement.blogspot.com/2010/06/soldiers-of-queen-empress-part-1.html
Thanks for looking!
James

Absolutely lovely James. I look forward to gaming with these someday. And you can never have too many calvary. They are just too fun to paint up.

One question James, where did these guys come from?

Those are the Old Glory dismounted Mounted Infantry in Bush hat, skirmishing. So they are suitable for Australians, South African loyalists, British Yoemanry and any late war British infantry/MI. Comes with command figures. Unfortunately the hats are not suitable to make them Canadian Mtd Rifles.

Infantry might even be later today, depends on how much time I have today.

Great stuff, James. I really like those Indian troopers  :-*

I keep telling myself I need some but never get around to it  ::)

Those Aussie infantry don't look at all bad - they are obviously some of the rare OGs that paint up well. Again, I could be tempted, as I've always fancied getting a unit or two of Aussies.

The OG Boer War range is one of the better ones. You do get the occasional figure in the bags afflicted with "OG Odd Head Syndrome", though.

Nice work, James. Lovely khaki.

On the MI in slouch hats and the MI in pith helmets I did have to fix a few "Hey Steve!" poses. But the cylindrical collars on their tunics made it pretty easy to clip at the collar and rotate the head to the correct position.

I did the khaki by dry brushing Americana 'khaki tan' overtop of a base coat of burnt umber.

Yes GM you do need Indian troops. Lots. Considering they served in Egypt, the Sudan, China and Burma they're dashedly useful fellows. And colourful. The Perry's have a nice selection of Indian infantry and Bengal lancers.
