My Lehr Panzerkompanie
« on: July 28, 2010, 09:59:49 AM »
I've posted some pictures on my blog of my growing FOW Lehr Panzerkompanie. LINK

I've added a Panther Platoon and a King Tiger (the latter because the model was calling to me "paint me! paint me!"). There are more pictures on my blog LINK and as usual feedback is always welcome... especially if you have advice on painting 'airbrushed camo' because I've had mixed results.

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

I think I did the camo a bit dark on the Panzer IV's. As I recall I used a ration of 1:6 of Paint and water for those but went with a a much thinner 1:10 for the panthers. I then painted the camo stripes twice until I built up the desired density of pigment. Thin enough to look (from a distance) as if they had been airburshed. I still need to experiment as I'm having problems maintaining consistency in the finished results from one session to another.

Just an idea, but maybe if you give the panzer IV a (really) light drybrush of the base color it could make the camo blend in more with the rest of the tank…

Thanks for the ideas and feedback (both here and on my blog). It's much appreciated. I need to provide some more infantry and maybe some scout/reconnaissance capability into this force before adding another Tank Platoon.
