Tiger Miniatures, anyone seen these?
« on: 20 July 2007, 04:34:04 AM »
Saw this newsblurb over at TMP. Anyone seen these before? I think the Askari pack mules are a nice addition to the Foundry DA stuff.

Yup, I bought three packs of KNIL troopers and a command pack in the bush hats and three packs of Lombock warriors a few weeks ago when they put their sale notice up on TMP. I am very happy with all of the figures and the service was great but I think that they have a brand new distributor in the states. I had looked for a long time for KNIL troopers and these are good quality. Anyway, they will soon be involved in my Sarawack/Suluwezi campaign fighting British patrols, Chinese pirates, renegade Filipino legions, Dayaks, elements of the Japanese navy and various European corporate shills in the deep jungles of Borneo and the Celebes. So, if any one wants to join the fun feel free to stop by Guam (and if any of you Teutonic set of "uber" painters wants to help me get this painted up PLEASE drop by I'm sure that I can find you a figure or two to keep you busy!     )

They have as a core the Leader Boiler suit colonials but have been added to quite a bit, nice figures I did have some of the Cubans but passed them on as a never to be project

I bought some Askari Mules at Southern Front, the con in Raleigh, NC. They're pretty neat but not outstanding. The dealer was moving to Kentucky, but IIRC there's a link from the Tiger Miniatures UK sight to him.  I can't find his business card, sorry about that.

I've got the askari mountain gun. It's pretty nice.

Are the Tiger figures more comparable size wise to the Foundry DA stuff? Or a little bigger like the Copplestone High Adventure stuff?

Maybe I'm not the right person to ask, as I'll quite happily mix those ones you mention.

But having said that, here's a comparison shot I posted a while back on the "Latest Miniature Received" topic:

In the centre is a Brigade Games Askari, flanked by two Tiger fellows. Roughly the same size, maybe a bit less bulky though.

Sorry I don't have a comparison to Foundry or Copplestone handy, but if you know Brigade that might help a bit.

Thanks. The reason I ask, is following Eric from Conquests' idea of American Colonial games, I wondered if Tiger's Rough Riders would be noticeably larger than the Foundry Mexican figures.
