JJ Abrams to do "Steampunk Robot Movie"

Boilerplate is a great book, and although it's more of a mix of encyclopedic entries than a throughline narrative, I can see it being adapted well into a film.  It's kind of like a Forrest Gump of the late nineteenth century through WWI, and it's not confined to the Americas - the Boxer Rebellion's in there, as well as a few others.

Sounds pretty cool, particularly if it's stretched over a fair bit of time and different locations.
