What could this be?
« on: August 21, 2010, 10:49:06 PM »
Hi
Picked up this planter in a local pound shop it was upside down when I saw and thought "now theres something that could be transformed". Wondered what people thought it could be transformed into. Currently working on Weird Wars project and Future Wars project. Any inspiration?

Thanks

Richard
I'm going to need a SWAT team ready to mobilise, street level maps covering all of Florida, a pot of coffee, twelve Jammie Dodgers and a Fez!

It looks to me like a pre-fabricated bastion dropped into a war-zone to help in the pacification process. A gun-turret at the end of each arm, and a communication node in the middle (maybe a door somewhere? I dunno) and you're sorted I reckon.

That's my first thought anyway.

Second thought is that it's the engine housing for a spaceship. Not a huge one, I'm thinking about a metre long I guess. Three pointy bits coming up from the ends and the main body coming up from the centre is what I've got in mind obviously.

Some sort of alien "cup" for a Venusian cricket team? The start of something interesting, no doubt...

Great piece! Get some "pushlights" (Poundland has them at 1 Pound for the pair), add them to the "bastions", cover with transparent domes, and have it as a Sci-Fi powerplant.

Dan's SF Desert buildings concept art/picture thread on TMP

There are some great SF concepts, some from Star wars some real buildings others just great SF outpost buildings. I would consider cutting in in half so you can lift the top half off for interior access.

Nice buttressed desert SF buildings
