gaming Creature from the Black lagoon
« on: August 11, 2010, 04:51:03 PM »
Anybody done it?

You'd need a trawler or small, small tramp steamer,  pulp ranges of figures and many manufacturers will have suitableexplorers, scientists and ship crew, so no problem there,

except for the Gillman and Julie Adams (the one piece swimsuit wearing, Gillman's love interest, girl with the nice butt)  need GOOD likenesses there

Terrain would be very neat (rain forest/jungle with river/lagoon)

tents, camps and accessories

plenty of doomed extras for victims, and a villian or two with henchmen.

What about 15?

What rules?  Chaos in Carpathia? Pulp rules like .45 adventures?

The above is a superb figure, I can absolutely recommend it. I painted one as a commission for a friend and am still torn if I shall paint mine in colour or in black and white.

As for the other figures, Brigade Games and Pulp Figures do some good ship crews which should be generic enough.

15mm - bah! How can you think about using the LumpyScale(TM) instead of TheOneTrueScale(TM)? ;) lol

As for rules, since an RPG approach would probably be best, I guess .45A would be the set of choice.

What company is that creature from?

Is that Gillman suitable to use with Pulp Figures? I have always wondered if it was 28mm? ???
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

Manic Miner is too modest, so I'll point out it's available from his company:

A very nice figure. I think you could make it work with Pulp Figures, provided you tie them together using painting styles, since it is more slender and features more and finer detail. That is not to say Pulp Figures are poor (in fact, I absolutely love them and rate them among the best out there), but obviously the sculpting style is rather different. Size-wise, it should work out - it's a bit taller than 28mm (the base above is one of the "lip" bases so in vogue now, which are 30mm across, IIRC), but since he's not a human, I'd say that's okay.

As said, paint all figures in a similar style and technique, and make the bases "work together", and it should be fine.

Oh, just paint all my figures to the quality of that one?  Easy enough.   :o

I would love to tell you how to paint the miniature but this was painted for me by a member of the Frothers forum.Tim C. did a great job on him and the other miniatures he did for me too.

The miniature was sculpted by Paul Muller.

How about some pictures of the one you painted then Chris?

Unfortunately, I only have a single WIP shot taken before basing, and before I took it to Germany to its new home. I'll take some once I paint mine.
