Sometimes placing the warped piece in a bowl of very, very hot water and leaving it for a minute or two will allow you to reshape it.

I'm trying that very thing with that very piece...

GW did it again - put out a not-so-cheap product with a flaw.... also the wooden floor that go on that piece is warped.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Hi Guys,

Already did some of this and it helped a little. The problem is that the warped piece is the thickest one, so I could only fix it so much. The rest of the problem I'm fixing with green stuff, and I've just about finished it.  I should have it painted up pretty quickly.

And you thought I had thrown in the towel. I'm actually just getting my second wind.  :)

Here's the Old Woodsman as well as the link with the rest of the photos and the description: http://geektactica.blogspot.com/2010/08/old-woodsman.html

In the meantime, I've just primed the first miniatures for my Hungarian Monster Hunter warband. By the end of August I'm hoping to have Count Konrad Von Krumm and his companions finished and on the table. I'm tired of Mannleigh and his crowd getting all of the credit.  ::)

COOL  8)

I am currently moving stuff to/redecoration our newly purchased house, so I cannot dig right into my CiC/VSF/VWA, even though I want to, everytime I come back to this thread  :-*

Still picking up speed, but one more model finished in the meantime.

May I present the Count Konrad Von Krumm, the expedition leader of my forthcoming Hungarian Monster Hunters.

I'm currently in the process of painting up the rest of the warband. Here's where things stand at the moment:

FINISHED:

expedition leader (The Count)
professor (Dr. Grunberg)
expedition member (Ernst Holdt)
hunting dog (Ernst's hound Blitz)
The Old Woodsman

ON THE TABLE:

2 slayers (one almost finished)
3 more expedition members
1 more hunting dog
1 monkey (using dog stats)

EVENTUALLY: an unused box of GW plastic crossbowmen that will be painted as the Von Krumm Houseguard

Anyway, things are progressing nicely again, and I must say, our big three-player game the other evening went a long way in motivating me to move forwards. The painting list above will give me all possible options for my warband, so just a couple of more painted models will see me taking the first version of the warband to the table.

I'll leave you with this little number. I made it with a free online tool:

Very nice!

Actually getting stuck in with some action usually has that effect. After moving I'll try to get games on much more often than I've been used to - it is always a huge turn-on/motivation!

Which software is that? I used to have a rather primitive heraldry tool (but it had the feature that you could import your own graphichs as heraldic elements - fantastic for LARP).
