Looking for "Murloc"-like figures
« on: August 27, 2010, 03:18:28 AM »
Does anyone know of a range of 28mm figures that could roughly pass as Murlocs from World of Warcraft? Or, any type of savage fishy humanoids? I say "a range" as I'd like to make a small tribe (10-12 figs).

I think Fantasy Flight made some pre-painted ones awhile back, but I can't find anything about them.

The WoW boardgame has little plastic Murlocs that might scale up OK.

Then there's Four A Miniatures' Sea Demon hag and warrior: http://www.fouraminiatures.com/page3.htm

Also the old GW Slann (the skinny ones, not the more recent fat ones) could pass as fishmen with a more fishy paintjob. There's some amazing fishy deep ones out there but I don't have the time to search- check the CoC board :)

There's some fishy things in the DnD miniatures range. 'Kuo Toa'?

I saw the ones from Four A. They look perfect, but there are only two.

I didn't know about the Kuo Toa, those look pretty good. There's at least a bit of variety.

I wish Four A had a couple spearmen and and archer or two to go along with the hag and warrior. Maybe a shaman too. Oh, and maybe some with nets. :)

I wish I knew how to sculpt. But I fear I'd just end up with a squad of mud golems. ;D

I think the Dragon rune Komodons would fit fairly nice.
