15mm Blue Moon for HAVOC
« on: August 12, 2010, 06:04:08 PM »
Here are some 15mm Blue Moon figures that I am using for playtesting the HAVOC Wild West expansion. I started these about 11 PM last evening- long night! I used a new technique, and I'm pretty pleased with the result overall. I'm starting to become a 15mm addict!

Nice job. I have those figures and yours came out much ncer. Did you use the dip as your new technique?

Thanks. I started by priming the model with Army Painter Desert Yellow. Next, I painted a sepia glaze over the entire model by hand. I painted my base coat, block highlights, and I did a few micro highlights as well (not many). Finally, I went back and did some spot shading with the sepia, using a small brush.

Pennies! They're are just the right size, and you can't beat the price. ;)

You know, it's funny, I always use US pennies... but for some reason these looked like laser-cut plywood!

Very nice, I like the growing popularity in 15mm miniatures and these are superb.

Very nice indeed. I think that, had I the chance to do it all over again, I'd go with the 15mm Blue Moon range for my Western setup.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm finding that I really like gaming at this scale.

After painting this group up, I went ahead and ordered the Saloon set, Cowboys, and Townsfolk! I was really impressed with the level of detail on these figures.

I plan on doing another group this week (if I get the adobes finished first!)- maybe the outlaws/robbers with bandannas next?
