28mm Jet Pilot
« on: August 13, 2010, 11:16:49 PM »
Does anyone make a standing (not sitting for use in a model) jet pilot in 28mm? I would prefer a US pilot from the Korean war.

Dadi and Piombo do a modern pilot behind the lines. Too modern? Too warlike? Not enough pilotyness?

Great figure Matakishi, I got it on order. Thanks. I believe progress flies out the cockpit, Bezzo, when the pilot ejects.

Works for me.

Aren't fighter pilots today more like data inputters? Planes that fly themselves, weapon systems that prioritise targets by themselves, inbuilt evasive counter-measures etc. etc.

Progress...yet something is lost.

Sounds more like NORAD's SAGE than today's fighters.  AWACS has expedited the pilot's Air to Air job as JSTARS has the Air to Mud role but nothing of automation like the Golden Oldie of SAGE.

Gracias,

Glenn

That's the impression I get. For some real piloting, read Ed Macy's Apache and Hellfire. Bloody hell, I can't even work out how he flies the things even after having it clearly explained. Both eyes looking at different things whilst each limb does something different, simultaneously talking to several different radio channels and trying to stop a machine that inherently wants to crash from doing so? What? :o

Mind you, I'd love to be able to read two books at the same time  lol
