Love the platform, Jim. :-*

Superb work.

You mention selling the turrets- Will they be on your website?

I can see plenty of uses for them.

I don't normally go for floating things, but that defence platform is awfully cool.

And very nicely modelled too!  :)

That's not good  :( silly boy  ;D Are you going for the same thing?

Yep, same thing although the collars were giving me trouble. Oh for a proper lathe.
Did some slight damage so decided to strengthen it.... keep an eye on expanding foam....
So many projects..... so little time.......

Thanks chaps  :)

You mention selling the turrets- Will they be on your website?

Amongst other things but on a different site which should hopefully be up in the next couple of months.

Tonight's update is for the canal and the first full board is just about done. Some wip photos are below and the finished ones will be posted over the weekend.

It is the same style as the one on page 13, just wider and on two foot square boards.

The same principle for the water also applies to the big boards, ie; removable, so games can play played in the wet or dry season depending on the mood of the players  :)

I have also added a small dock for the canal boats to load and unload from. The city walls will be right up against the canal side and there will be access through a largish door. Provision has been made so the dock will remain whether the canal is wet or dry (the wall section shown is just a sample piece).

I will also be making a simple bridge but out of wood or stone I haven't decided yet  ???

This will be part of the table at this years BLAM  :D It's going to take a lot of ink, glue, sand and paint though  lol

Thanks again chaps  :)

cheers

James

That looks aaamazing Jim, but it could do with more filigree. ;) ;)

Honestly though Jim, that looks great. I'm really looking forward to this years BLAM! My only worry is with all these amazing games due to appear, that while I'm playing one great game I'm missing another!! :'( :'(

Hmm, that boat doesn't appear to be carrying the correct identification issued by the Neo-Venizian Free Trade Canal Commision. Prepare for boarding and inspection!

The Japanese have the required documentation permitting free access to all of the canals on Mars as supplied by a representative of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Empress of India, Venus and Mars (Gaud bless 'Er) government under the terms of the Anglo/Japanese Alliance of 1881.

This very true and the said documents can be provided on request.

What tenuous claim do the Neo-Venizian Free Trade Canal Commission have on the canals of Mars?

I think they might be clutching at straws and could quite posibly end up with a bloody nose because of it...

 ;D ;)

cheers

Is the Neo-Venizian claim anything to do with the Astro-Hungarian Empire? Careful, this could be the Tonkin, Agidir and Fashoda Incidents all rolled into one...

It is the rights and duties of the Free Trade Canal Commission to ensure that all nations, be they Human or Martian, have full and peaceful access to the canals of Mars. The flow of trade is vital to the settlements and people residing on this planet and any attempt to interfere with such trade will be met with extreme force.

To minimise conflict upon the Martian canals it is a requirement that vessels operating within monitored regions are registered with the Neo-Venizian Free Trade Canal Commission. Any unregistered vessels will make themselves available for boarding and inspection to ensure they are true and legitimate representatives, uninvolved with piracy or smuggling. After inspection, said vessel will be eligable for registration with the Commission.

Vessels operating under the jurisdiction of a sovereign government are free to defend their interests as long as said interests do not interfere with the flow of vessels upon the canals. Such vessels still require registration with the Commission, although diplomatic privaleges will be permitted. Such privaleges may not interfere with the flow of trade and any attempt to do so will be met with extreme force by the Neo-Venizian navy.
