Thanks for the replies chaps. I think I'm going to go for red brick but highlight in a yellow instead of a yellow/cream, not much of a difference but it does look different.

Got a fair amount done over the past couple of weeks. The bridge over the canal is made, just needs painting (green, like the rest of the metal work). The station is constructed with a base coat on it and I repaired the neff hanger which had a little accident (more on that in a later post).

Thundercheeks, if you're reading this (which I'm sure you will at some point) I need the dimensions for your bridge off you again  :)

The bridge has been magnetised at both ends to allow for quick assembly, and element of strength and to allow it to be stored easily.

As you can see the other support end is bulked out, now to finish the blockwork on both  ::)

Next we have the bridge connected to the mesa (I'm not getting it all out again for a bit so this will have to do).

And for today's final pictures, the station at New Victoria  :)

Bare in mind that this is just a base coat and there are several things still to do on it such as: the roof, the floor needs spraying again as it leached under the litho tape, various interior bits of furniture, possible lighting, a guard rail on the two rear most large openings (to stop people falling out), a platform, a sign and it also needs raising on a stone plinth to get it to the right height, this plinth will also go down the back and blend in with the mesa (this will make more sense when it's actually done).

Back to commission work for the rest of the day now  :)

cheers

James

Choo, choo!

All rather splendid Dear Boy. ;D

The black and white tiled floor is most effective. :-*

Looking forward to seeing it covered in Earther blood when the Raas-Ak-Naa next strike.  ;)

Super duper luvely great, James!  :-* I'm fascinated!

Did you build this station building yourself or is it a kind of kit?

Thank you Michael,

It's scratch built but adapted from the Victorian terrace kit I have on my website. It took about four hours to alter the drawing (working out the brick spacings and internal wall lengths etc) it was then cut out, assembled (thankfully no mistakes) and given a base coat, I might do some more painting on it tonight.

I have also thought about doing one off buildings like this and making them available but this still has a fair bit or work to do on it for me to able to do that (roof, clock tower etc).

cheers

Wouldn't that just be from sailors falling off the crashing Aeronefs?  Couldn't you just show up with 2 guys and watch his 'nef blow up?

Such a titanic piece, but so beautifully done.  :-*

What a brilliant build.  :o

How lucky is Malamute to have the opportunity to disembowel your weak Earthmen over your amazing terrain piece.

Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

I love the late 1840s early 1850s gothic look of the station.  It looks like it could have come right out of an architectural pattern book.

The station will not be complete without (un)appropriate platform sign - like Victoria Parkway, Albert Halt, or somesuch  lol

Dare I ask what sort of game is going to fit around such terrain?

Are we talking a battle with units and machines or a Pulp adventure with heroes jumping from 'nefs to trains and performing feats of derring-do?

As soon as I can design it  ::) lol Shouldn't be too long now hopefully.

Units and machines. There will be plenty of space on the table as its going to be 12 x 6 and the railway runs along one side.

Once we move and I have access to a decent table for gaming on then we'll have all sorts of fun on it and some small scale skirmish might just be the ticket  :)
