@ Jimbibbly,    really like the stonework you have used on the City walls and the like.   Could you possibly tell us which type it is and where it can be brought?

This thread is just so full of Awesome

Thank you kindly  :)

No wrecked trains I'm afraid (well, we'll see).

It's a vacformed styrene sheet that railway modellers use, 7mm dressed stone. Go on any model railway suppliers that stock materials and you're bound to find some  :)

More on the end mesa  :)

I've thought about it and I think I'll be putting a foot bridge right at the back and not have any access but put a small camp on each spur with the idea that the access is further back 'off table'. It would've been too cramped with access as well.

The gun is wrong but I've run out of suitable ones (just about to order a new batch  :D ).

It's fun and games day tomorrow so I'll get the boards out on Sunday and see where we are. It won't be the whole board as I don't have room, it'll just be enough to see what's what  :)

cheers

Ace Jim! Why not make a lift for the camp? Just a wooden platform hoisted by a pulley/counter-weight system? All you would need is a wooden beam tripod hanging over the cliff?

Ooo, I quite like that idea  8)

The right hand side is going to be extended out to the right a bit so there might be room  :)

Another idea to help imply the size of the camp would be to have half a bridge over the gap at the end of the board (so that the "missing" half of the bridge would be on the theoretical next board).

That gives you a link between the halves for gaming, implies a bigger camp, and takes up a minimum of space.

Between that and the lift, the area becomes a lot more playable (and after all, this IS for a game! ;) )

With something that high, you could combine the need for a lift with a 'nef docking station, projecting from the mesa.

That's not the one I'm thinking of...

Well the table is 99% finished now which means I can pile stuff up to sort and sell, once that is done I can pay some bills. After that I can build all sorts of stuff! Although without the margarine tubs this time  ;)

This thread is phenomenal.    :-*

Cant wait to see the table in all its glory.  Lots of pictures please.

With the large structures you have made are you making them out of foam core and then covering them with plasticard?

Thanks  :)

The big stone structures are mainly lasered card covered with styrene, the neff docking station is foamcore covered with styrene and the brick buildings are all lasered acrylic  :)

As to photos, there'll be hundreds  :D

cheers
