Ok, could happen, but I'd always got the impression that the French guy had learned it from the natives after living with them for a few years. Sort of like Le Hawkeye.     I dunno, I may have missed the explanation as I was keeping one eye on the subtitles and another on the beautiful production values and a third (huh?) on Monica Bellucci.

Oh, and I think I've been pissed all three times I've seen it.

That doesn't help with retention of facts.

You have no idea how many viruses have infected my machine while hunting images of her; I'm a BADDD boy.

All said, I enjoyed all of the film, and not entirely sure why.

Me thinks I shall dig it out, analyze my reactions,  and see if it can inspire some scenario writing.

I'm sure it helps glossing over the awkward parts. That said, I think it is one of the most entertaining interpretations of the "Bête du Gévaudan" affair. There is another French one, title eluding me, which is closer to the known facts, but almost as sedate as a Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple film (which I love, mind you).

Yes, Monica Bellucci was hot, as usual.  However, I was equally captivated by Émelie Dequenne in her red hunting outfit and tricorne.
